BLUE TARP

BLUE TARP

  • 24 x 20 in

This acrylic painting on cradled board offers an abstracted view of an abandoned shelter in the Santa Monica Mountains. Muted greens and grays evoke the rugged landscape, while hints of structure—lines and shapes—suggest the shelter blending into its surroundings. Bright blue and warm accents represent remnants like a faded tarp, small traces of human presence still visible amidst nature’s slow reclamation. The work explores the tension between human-made structures and the resilience of the natural world, inviting viewers to reflect on the passage of time and the balance between what we build and how nature absorbs it. This painting was included in LELA juried exhibition Lust and Love 2024, and awarded Honorable Mention in Teravarna 7th Color Juried Art Contest.
